Our Story

From a missionary's promise to a movement

25 years of relationships. A love for the game. And a refusal to watch another generation of Dominican kids drop out of school chasing a dream that never comes.

The Problem We Solve

The Dominican Republic produces more MLB players than any country outside the United States — and more MLB academies than anywhere else on earth.

All 30 MLB teams operate official baseball academies here. But behind every success story are thousands of kids who never made it.

98%

of kids who chase a contract never sign one

50%

of kids in Barahona never finish high school

0

plan B when the baseball dream dies

Every year, thousands of boys across the Dominican Republic drop out of school to train full-time with "buscones" — informal scouts who promise MLB dreams but deliver exploitation. The odds are worse than the lottery. And when it doesn't happen — no diploma, no skills, no options.

The cycle of poverty locks in for another generation.

Who takes care of the 98%?

We do.

How We Do It

Four pillars. One mission.

📚

Education First

School isn't optional — it's the price of admission. Every player must maintain grades above 70% and 100% attendance to stay on the team.

Baseball Training

Year-round coaching, league play, and free equipment for every player. Three teams — high school, middle school, and t-ball — competing in Barahona's 8-team league.

🤝

Mentorship

Life skills, goal setting, and real relationships with coaches and staff who show up every single day. Not a pipeline — a family.

🌎

Community

Locally led, locally loved. Our staff has lived in Barahona for decades. We're not outsiders running a program — we're neighbors building a future together.

100% of donations go to the DR

Every dollar you give goes directly to the program in Barahona. US operations are funded separately through grants and outside support — not from your donation.
